Croydon trading standards’ three year battle against retailers selling knives to children

A company that sold knives to a child has been told to pay £25,000 in fines and costs following a court case brought by Croydon Council Trading Standards. The case against Daventry-based company Extreme GB LTD was the 17th and final in a three-year Croydon-led nationwide clampdown on knife sales to children which was backed by the Home Office and National Trading Standards. Driver was overheard saying “I think I blacked out” Croydon tram inquest hears

The driver of a tram that overturned at Sandilands Junction killing seven people was heard saying “look what I’ve done, I’ve killed them” by a police officer as he climbed out of the wreckage, an inquest has heard.
