From 8-10th August, join the 2024 TYPT cohort for HEAVY, directed by award-winning Writer and Director Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu. (For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When The Hue Gets Too Heavy; Rumble in the Jungle; 2022 Black British Theatre Award for Best Director.

Meet The Chosen one. The undeniable talent, chosen by the community. He is on the path to power. In the shadows, the Maverick is working away; a maestro striving to be heard. Pitted against each other, The Chosen one and the Maverick embark on intertwining odysseys to discover the true meaning of success.

HEAVY is told through powerful performances with dynamic movement and epic storytelling at its heart. Running for four shows only, this exhilarating offering from TYPT:2024 cohort and a stellar creative team is not to be missed.

Running since 1995, Talawa Young People’s Theatre programme is back. Our 2024 TYPT cohort are 12 exciting young artists working collaboratively with our creative team in a four week, free to take part trainging programme. Come and join us. Support the next generation of talent.
